about our bizMOTEL rooms

  1. What star rating is the motel?
    • Our rooms are rated 3 ½ stars in the “Motel” category administrated by AAA tourism.
  2. What is included in bizMOTEL's Standard Room?
    • Your motel room includes everything necessary for a comfortable stay, quality furnishings, access to wireless internet and Foxtel, ensuite bathroom, individual climate control heating /air conditioning system, compact fridge, toaster, kettle, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, all linen and daily serving.
  3. What is included in bizMOTEL's Executive Room?
    • Our top floor Executive Rooms feature all of the Standard inclusions plus a microwave, DVD player, quality bathroom amenities and a set of crockery & cutlery. An Executive Room upgrade costs just $9 a night ($20 during Grand Prix period).
  4. What is included in the price?
    • Foxtel, coffee/tea making facilities, individual cooling/heating unit, WiFi internet access, clock radio, linen, towels & daily service.
  5. What is not included in the price?
    • Telephone calls, additional bedding, cots, room service, DVD hire & car parking.
  6. Is car parking available?
    • Yes, we offer on-site open-air car parking for just $8 per vehicle, per night. Please note, there are no height restrictions & trailer parking is subject to availability.
  7. Do we offer breakfast?
    • Yes, we offer a room service breakfast from $8 per person. This includes a juice, cereal, toast and a daily newspaper. Tea, coffee and milk are included in all rooms.
  8. What is included in the daily servicing of my room?
    • Full clean of the bathroom, replacement of linen and towels as required, removal of any rubbish, replenishment of tea/coffee sachets and fresh milk.
  9. Is extra cutlery & crockery available?
    • Each room has provisions for tea/coffee making and additional items can be requested from Reception.
  10. Can I bring my own cooking appliances?
    • Due to fire and safety regulations we do not allow guests to bring their own cooking appliances.
  11. How many people does each room sleep?
    • Standard Queen – A maximum of 2 people in a queen size bed
    • Standard Twin – A maximum of 3 people in a double bed and a single bed
    • Executive Queen - A maximum of 2 people in a queen size bed
  12. Do you have larger rooms?
    • We have interconnecting rooms which consist of one Standard Queen and one Standard Twin room with an external interconnecting door.
  13. Are there any rooms with baths?
    • Yes, we have a small number of rooms with baths. Requests must be made at the time of booking and are subject to availability.
  14. Are cots available?
    • A porta baby cot is free of charge, subject to availability
  15. Do you offer fold beds?
    • No, we do not offer additional bedding to rooms.
  16. What channels do you offer with Foxtel?
    • We offer three Foxsports channels, Sky News, Discovery Channel & W Entertainment.
  17. Do you have in house movies?
    • We offer a range of DVD movies to hire from reception. DVD players are also available with a $50.00 bond.
  18. Do you offer a daily newspaper?
    • Yes, we can arrange a newspaper during your stay at the standard price. The newspapers included are The Herald  Sun, The Age, The Australian and The Financial Review.
  19. Do you offer any amenities or last minute kiosk items?
    • Yes, we have all the last minute items you may have forgotten. Shampoo & Conditioner, toothbrushes available from Reception at standard prices.
  20. Do you have a vending machine or mini bar?
    • We offer a snack bar which can be ordered from the menu in your room and delivered or collected from reception.
  21. Is there a minimum length of stay?
    • Our minimum stay is one night except during special event periods. Visit our Rooms & Rates page for current Special Events pricing and conditions.

about our bizCENTRE

  1. What does the bizCENTRE contain?
    • Our new bizCENTRE is a great place to meet a client, get some work done or just relax in in the comfortable lounges while watching Foxtel. Catch up on the latest business news with a copy of the Financial Review and our selection of magazines. There are also meeting tables, 2 workstations with free broadband internet, free use of a combo fax/printer/copier and a private meeting room available for hire.
  2. Do you offer free broadband internet?
    • Yes. We offer 2 free internet enabled PCs in the bizCENTRE and wireless internet base stations throughout the property. This means you can use your wireless equipped laptop in your guest room, the bizCENTRE and in the lobby free of charge.
    • When checking in please request a password to access the internet. Your password will be valid for the length of your stay.
    • There are no download or time charges, however an Acceptable Usage Policy does apply so that all guests can make good use of the network.
  3. What if my laptop is not equipped for wireless internet?
    • If your laptop has an ethernet port you can also connect to the internet at our bizCENTRE workstations.
  4. How does the wireless broadband work?
    • Easy. You can connect wirelessly in 2 easy steps.
      1. On your laptop select "bizMOTEL" from the available wireless networks.
      2. The first time you open an internet browser window you will be prompted to enter your username and password.
  5. Do you offer free print and copying facilities?
    • Yes. bizMOTEL guests can print or copy up to 20 pages a day. Extra pages are 10 cents each. Please contact Reception for blank paper for the copier/printer.
  6. Do you offer fax facilities?
    • Yes. bizMOTEL guests can send faxes to local Melbourne numbers for free from the bizCENTRE. Please contact Reception to send faxes to long distance numbers (charges apply).
  7. Can I use my dial up modem with the guest room phone?
    • Yes, most dial-up modems work with our phone system.
  8. Do you offer a private meeting room?
    • Yes. bizMOTEL has a private meeting room that can seat up to 8 people available by the hour or all day. Please contact Reception for hiring rates or to make a booking.

about the location

  1. How far is the motel from the airport?
    • bizMOTEL is only 25 kilometres from Melbourne’s International & Domestic airport at Tullamarine or 50 kilometres from Avalon airport.
  2. Is there a shuttle service from the airport into the City centre?
    • Yes, there is the Skybus super shuttle service to Southern Cross Station. From there you would need to catch Tram 112 from the corner of Collins & Spencer Streets heading south bound out of the city. You would need to disembark the tram at the corner of Clarendon & Park streets.
  3. How far is the motel from the city centre?
    • The city centre is approximately 1.5km’s or a 10 minute tram ride.
  4. Is there transport available nearby?
    • Yes, we have a taxi rank less than 100 metres away and three different tram routes to the CBD within easy walking distance.
  5. Where can I purchase tickets for the trams?
    • Tickets can be purchased from any tram using the coin operated machines or anywhere that displays the METCARD symbol.
  6. Are there shopping facilities nearby?
    • bizMOTEL is only a ten minute walk to Clarendon Street, South Melbourne where there is a good mix of cafes, banks with ATM’s and Coles Supermarket. The South Melbourne Market is also close by and offers a good selection of goods and fresh food options.
  7. Am I within walking distance to the CBD?
    • The city centre is approx. 1.5 kilometres away and only takes approximately 20 – 30 minutes to walk.
  8. Can I walk to the MCG, Melbourne Park (Tennis Centre) or Telstra Dome?
    • Yes, It takes about 30 minutes depending on your walking speed.

  1. How do I check in?
    • Keys are available from Motel Reception. Reception operating hours are 7am to 9pm (Sunday to Thursday) and 7am to 10pm (Friday & Saturday).
  2. What is the check in/out time?
    • Guaranteed check in time is 2pm and check out time is 10am.
  3. How do I check in outside reception hours?
    • Key collection can be made outside Reception hours by prior arrangement. Please note a late check in fee of $40.00 applies.
  4. Can I arrange an early check in?
    • A request for an early check in can be made directly with the motel. This is never guaranteed and is subject to availability. If you would like to guarantee an early check in the room must be booked for the previous night.
  5. Can I arrange a late check out?
    • Should you require a later check out than 10am, please contact Reception on the day prior to your departure to discuss.
  6. Where can I store my luggage?
    • You are welcome to store your luggage, before check in or after check out at Reception.

reservations & payment info

  1. How do I make a reservation?
    • Simply contact us on +61 3 9699 2533 or 1800 019 444 (free call in Australia) or fill in our online booking request form.
  2. Is there an online booking fee?
    • No, when you book direct with us there are no hidden charges.
  3. Can I speak to a real person?
    • Yes, absolutely!
  4. Is a deposit required?
    • Yes, payment of your first night's stay will be taken as a deposit to confirm your stay. This will be charged to your nominated credit card.
  5. What happens if I do not own a credit card?
    • Your booking will be unconfirmed in our system and will be released by 6pm if you have not arrived. The room maybe relet to another guest.
  6. When do you require payment?
    • The outstanding balance for your stay will be payable upon check in.
  7. What payment forms do you accept?
    • All prices are quoted in Australian dollars. Major credit cards accepted including: American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard and Visa. We also accept cash and debit card. A copy of appropriate photo identification such as a driver's license will be required for these payment methods. Payment by direct debit is available by prior arrangement. Unfortunately we can not accept any personal or bank cheques on check in.
  8. What is the cancellation policy?
    • There is no cancellation fee if you cancel at least 24 hours before check in time. Cancellations after this time will incur a one night cancellation fee. If you cancel via our website, it is only a request to cancel. Your reservation will not be cancelled until you receive a written confirmation from us. Your deposit will be refunded to your nominated credit card if you cancel at least 24 hours before the check in time.
  9. How do I make changes to my booking?
    • Only bookings made directly with the motel maybe changed (subject to availability). We may also need to contact you if additional charges apply.
  10. Are you affiliated with any motel chain?
    • Yes, we are a member of the Golden Chain Motor Inns Ltd.
  11. Am I able to use my “Gold link” card to receive a 10% discount off the daily tariff listed in the current Golden Chain Australian Accommodation directory during my stay?
    • Yes, as long as you present your card on arrival and have made the booking directly with the motel or through another Golden Chain property.
  12. Do you offer a discount to the Golden chain ABC card (Australian Business Card)?
    • Yes, we offer a 10% discount off the published rate in the current directory with bookings made direct with the Motel.
  13. Do you offer any discount if I display my seniors card?
    • Yes, as long as you present your card on arrival and have made the booking directly with the mote
  14. What happens if bizMOTEL can not provide what they have offered?
    • No responsibility will be taken for any events which are beyond our control. Should we be unable to provide the accommodation as originally offered we will endeavor to provide something of a similar or better quality. We reserve the right to relocate your accommodation at any time.
